My EYFS and KS1 lesson plans are drama-based around the themes of the seasons and outdoor activity to go with my first book, Amelie and the Great Outdoors. I also have a lesson plan for KS2 where we explore picture books as a genre and the children develop a book design for themselves.
I'm an experienced audiologist, working for over 20 years with children with additional needs. I am therefore very happy to consider visits to special schools. I am experienced in communicating with deaf children (BSL level 2, qualified Cued Speech transliterator) and enjoy incorporating elements of BSL into all my sessions.
“The children were buzzing, you’ve clearly made a huge impact!” 6.6.16, state primary, Surrey
“An amazing day! Wonderful to be able to involve the whole school, right down to Early Years” 3.3.16, World Book Day visit, independent prep, Berkshire
I also do talks for adults on 'The Wonder of Picture Books' and run Picture Book Club; a monthly club for grown-ups who like to get together to marvel at picture books, eat cake and gossip about children’s publishing.
I am based in Berkshire but am willing to travel within the UK if needed.
