Adults, 6th Form and college

After training as a teacher, I spent several years teaching PE in England before going to Canada where I taught PE in two High Schools. I returned briefly to England and then travelled to Uganda where I taught English as a Second Language, Music and PE. When I came back to England, I took a post in a Grammar School and studied for an Open University Degree. Having obtained it, I accepted a post as a Head of English in another Secondary School. After several more years, I retired early so that I could concentrate on writing. While teaching, I had had a number of articles published but my 'books' had always been politely rejected. However, after 'retirement', things changed. As I could not find a publisher for my autobiography, I self-published it and won an award. One of the publishers who had rejected it, took my second book and reprinted my first! My writing career was launched. I write Biography, Local History and English Grammar books. My sixteenth book, Secret Bracknell came out in July 2016 and I am now working on  Secret Woking due to be published in 2017. As well as writng, I play tennis, travel to exotic places and am an active member of my local Anglican Church.

I have written sixteen books.
