Details

I'm a full-time writer with wide experience of speaking in schools and libraries and at festivals and conferences.   I regularly give talks for children, teenagers and adults, and have worked for various organisations including the Arvon Foundation, the British Council, Young Cultural Creators and the Writing Squads in Wales.

I'll consider visits anywhere; I enjoy travelling and visiting new places, and don't mind staying away from home, particularly if bookings are for more than one day.    For day visits, anywhere that can reasonably be reached by rail from North Oxfordshire is possible.  London is ninety minutes away by train.

Please contact me to discuss your particular requirements.

A testimonial from the Arvon Foundation:  "Linda Newbery has proved herself to be an excellent communicator with the groups she has taught at Arvon. As important as her skills in working with children, is the nature of the books she writes for them.  Children really engage with Linda's work and we have found introducing Linda's work to the children before the course begins adds an immeasurable dimension to her workshops and individual tutorials. Children want to listen to her. Linda's books deal with wonderful themes and ideas for children."

A testimonial from Northamptonshire Libraries and Information Service:    "Linda has a reputation for being both flexible and adaptable, tailoring her delivery with careful consideration for the age and ability ranges and educational focus of the organised event. Over the years she has also worked closely with school librarians and teachers in schools throughout our county as a popular guest author for bookweeks and author events engaging with students in writing workshops and discussion forums from Y3 up to Y12/13."

"Newbery writes wonderfully"  The Financial Times

"Linda Newbery is an author who never lets her readers down." Nicholas Tucker, The Independent
