Details

Going into schools is a lot of fun. As a former teacher, I am happy speaking to KS2 groups of up to a hundred for Creative Writing Workshops or assemblies.

'We enjoyed having Donna Vann on World Book Day.  The children thought it was great!'     Ken Madden, Head Teacher

'I would highly recommend these workshops as whilst the children are learning they are also enjoying themselves.'    Liz Rabone,  Library Manager

The Creative Writing Workshop for KS2-3 lasts one hour.  The children compete in a fun author quiz, do an 'imagination' exercise and ask a million questions.  Next they learn how to structure a story and begin planning their own.  The workshop can be tailored to suit individual school needs.  Other options are available for KS1.

'As a school we really enjoyed your visit and feel that you were excellent value for money.'  Ian Gallagher, Deputy Head Teacher

'The children were very excited by the workshops and asked lots of perceptive questions.'   Amanda Zakis, Assistant Head Teacher

I am available for school visits, talks for adult groups or radio interviews in the Midlands, Warwickshire and Worcestershire areas, as well as London.  Reduced rates are possible for local schools.

My talk 'Your Writing Journey' helps adult writers' groups understand how to develop ideas, plot a story and approach publishers.  'Finding the Plot' is a talk for non-writers which gives insight into the writing life.
