Details Doctor Who writer with new book out now. Booking for 2011, but still some availability for Autumn Term 2010. Booked for WBD (3.3.11) but available for other dates in that week.
I have been a published writer since 1993, when I first contributed to Virgin Books'
Doctor Who range. I write fiction for adults and my first children's book, completed with the aid of an Arts Council award, has just been placed by my agent. I have also written non-fiction on subjects as diverse as parenting, 80s pop, Christmas and politics. My latest books are
X Marks The Box, a humorous approach to politics, published in 2010 to coincide with the General Election, and a BBC Doctor Who novel,
Autonomy, which was published September 2009.
I deliver creative writing sessions to adults, young people and children. I have worked for the Workers' Educational Association, with young writers' groups and with school groups, both on school sites and out in museums and other locations. I have worked with children and young people from Year 2 up to sixth-formers. I have a variety of approaches to stimulate imagination, and try to bring out the best in every writer. I aim to enable students to develop their individual writing voice.
I am available for school visits, where I can talk about Doctor Who and my other writing for children - please email to discuss requirements. I charge the recommended Society of Authors rates and I have Public Liability Insurance up to £2 million.
