Introduction

Hi. I’m Ash (or Ashley). My first paid writing job was at a local magazine. That was twelve years ago. Since then, I have taken a journey through freelance writing jobs and found myself here, with three published books, two underway, a contributor credit, a writing award, and a master’s degree in creative writing. My books, which focus on paganism and spirituality, have opened the door for my career. Now, I am slightly shifting focus from non-fiction to fiction. I met a writer once who told me that her heart belonged to fiction but that cookbooks were her bread and butter. This always stuck with me. It was how I learned that it was okay to write more than one type of book.

Writing, and its related activities, make up my career. These include writing novels and articles, teaching, editing, running workshops, and public speaking. I love all of it.

Radio/TV appearances:

My most recent TV appearance was a promo for City, University of London. Before that I appeared in the limited series ‘Uncanny’ with Danny Robins that aired on the BBC in October 2023. I have been a guest on over a dozen podcasts and a radio station in Colorado. In May 2023 I starred in a student film about magic.

Descriptions of talks you give to audience

I give talks that involve a lot of audience participation. Sometimes I will have slides, depending on the topic. I have been told that I am funny, though much of this comes from my presence and not an attempt to be funny.

I can customize my talks to fit your needs.

What happens in your workshops

I like to start my workshops with a meditation that fits the theme, topic, or work. If not a meditation, I start with a writing exercise. I encourage, but never force, participation. A lot of writing and personalized exercises happen throughout my workshops.

I can customize my workshops to fit your needs.

Areas I am willing to visit

I live in London but am willing to travel anywhere! Fees are based on the Society of Authors recommendations. Distances over 50 miles must include travel expenses. Over 75 miles, must include a stipend for board.
