Independent Theatre Maker | Writer | Creative Workshop Leader
I deliver interactive author visits and creative workshops for schools, libraries and cultural venues. My sessions combine storytelling, movement and creative writing to explore myth, folklore and place-based narratives, encouraging imagination, confidence and expressive communication skills.
I am an experienced theatre-maker, writer and educator creating dynamic, participatory experiences for young people and adults. My work blends storytelling, movement and creative play to inspire confidence, imagination and self-expression.
I offer workshops, performances and talks tailored to schools, libraries, festivals and community groups. Sessions can be highly physical and interactive or more reflective and discussion-based, always designed to suit the needs, abilities and interests of each group.
What I Offer
Approach
My practice draws on place-based storytelling, myth, fairy tale, ancestry and personal narrative. I incorporate walking, observation and imaginative play to unlock creativity in fresh and unexpected ways.
My workshops support creative writing, literacy development, confidence in speaking and listening, and curriculum topics including mythology, storytelling, poetry and place-based learning.
Experience & Background
I am the founder of Triangle Theatre (UK), an international touring company established in Coventry, and have led youth and community performance initiatives including Bare Essentials Youth Theatre and The Little Herberts.
My educational projects have received international recognition, including Coventry Kids in the Blitz, which won a Museums and Heritage Award for Best Educational Initiative.
I hold a B.Ed and have taught in both primary and secondary education. I also have extensive experience in Higher Education, contributing to performance projects, workshops and research at universities including Warwick, Salford and Manchester.
Current Work
I am currently developing A Walking Companion, a series of walking-based poetry and storytelling works inspired by the Sefton coastline, which also informs my workshops in creative writing and place-based practice.
