I'm an award-winning picture book and YA author with extensive experience of working creatively with children and adults, of giving radio and TV interviews and of speaking at book festivals and other public events.

Based in East Sussex, I'm happy to discuss traveling anywhere and to tailor-make the event to suit your needs. My fees are based on the Society of Authors guidelines.

For KS1 & 2 I've written a wide range of beautifully illustrated picture books that are thought provoking and full of exuberance and humour, which I use as inspiration for my lively large group performances, my talks, interactive storytelling sessions, readings and creative writing workshops. Please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss a visit. There's more information at www.miriammoss.com

'Her interaction with the children was perfect ... the audience had a fantastic time. A thoroughly enjoyable event for all the family.'                 Brighton Festival
'Thank you so much for playing such a valuable part in our book week celebrations. All the children thoroughly enjoyed the time you spent with them sharing your books, and your obvious love of the written word and the power of storytelling. All the teachers were highly impressed with your input, your command of the class and the work that the children did as a result. Thank you again for your hard work and enthusiasm.'           Chyngton School, Seaford

For Year 6 - Sixth Form students I visit schools telling the story of my YA novel, Girl on a Plane, which is based on my real life experience of being hijacked by Palestinian guerrillas while traveling alone from the Middle East back to the UK aged 15. Using a short film with some real footage of the famous hijack and a Powerpoint talk, we discuss writing from life, writing suspense, the Palestinian problem and the refugee phenomenon. I also offer a number of writing workshops around these subjects. I'd be delighted to hear from you, if you'd like to chat about a visit. There's more information at www.miriammoss.com

'We absolutely loved having you with us for the day: it was a huge success! As you know, we are huge 'Girl on a Plane' fans and we will be recommending it and you. It worked really well having you for both the older and younger children. Do keep in touch as we would love to work with you again.' Corpus Christi School, Brixton, London
'Interesting and thought-provoking. Our girls were full of questions and the staff that attended very much enjoyed your talk as well.'             Roedean School
'Miriam kept her young audience's attention throughout ... a well organised presentation by a savvy international author.' BBC Southern Counties
"I thought the way the workshop was delivered was wonderful. I liked the lady's humour and insight." "I was very impressed with the workshop and Miriam, and learnt a lot from the experience." Inmates, Dartmoor Prison
