I'm loving them! Contact me for a free online session of around 15 minutes. During this time, I can share a poem or a story, or chat about writing and answer questions. Only one free visit per school please. Any age from Nursery up. Additional online workshop sessions of up to 45 minutes charged @ £50 each. Agree a date, then just supply a link to the online platform of your choice.

Like more information regarding paid visits?

I’m an ex-teacher with lots of experience of visiting primary schools.

If possible, I begin the day with a fun 20 minute poetry performance in the hall to introduce myself to everyone before I go on to visit individual classes etc.


Pre school/kindergarten/reception: Sharing stories and poems (20 minutes).


Year 1-6:  Talks and Workshops.

Workshops: (40-50 minutes, per class/year group or key stage)

Writing a Poem

Writing a Story

(each workshop has a clear focus, and the emphasis is on inspiring and enthusing everyone)  


Talks: (30-60 minutes according to ages of children, includes time for Q and A)

Being an Author
I talk about the writing process from the initial scribbles through to the finished product. I like to show original material and make it chatty, but this can be done as a powerpoint presentation followed by Q and A (max one Key Stage at a time, please)



I’m happy to stay behind after school to meet parents/sell/sign my books if they have been told of my visit in advance.


Charges: £300 for a full day plus travel expenses. I'm happy to quote an all-in price if preferred.  

Local (within 40 miles of Market Harborough) all-in discount full day rate £250. 

Special local half day plus (start time 11am to end of school, lunch break to be included) £150.
