I am a writer, illustrator and animator, best known for creating '64 zoo Lane'.
Born in Belgium, I moved to London to study at the Royal College of Art where I made my award-winning animated film ‘Little Wolf’. After graduating, I started work on the popular animated TV series ’64 Zoo Lane’, which has been broadcast on the BBC/CBeebies for 18 years now.
I have written and illustrated 15 picture books published by Hodder Children books, Oxford University Press and HarperCollins. Most of my stories are inspired by a love of animals and nature. I have also written numerous televisions scripts for children's programmes such as '64 Zoo Lane', 'Florrie's Dragons', 'Bing' and 'Miffy'.
I enjoy visiting schools, libraries and festivals to talk about my books and films. I have 15 years of experience visiting schools. As an author, illustrator and animator, I can offer a variety of lively sessions:
Story Session (Nursery, Reception and Year 1) My story sessions feature a giant toothbrush, bubbles and a very tall giraffe!
‘How a picture book is made’ session (Year 1 to Year 4)
Writing and Illustrating Workshop (Year 1 and 2)
Animation Session, including zoetrope activity (Year 2 to Year 6)
I usually fit 4 to 6 sessions into a day, including a short session in assembly. I mainly visit schools in London and the South East, but will occasionally travel further afield.
