Testimonials
One of your books is currently our class reader, and it has generated some wonderful discussions and engagement amongst our students. For most (if not all) of our pupils, reading has not always been an easy/positive experience, so finding books that genuinely capture their interest is incredibly valuable. Your work has helped us do exactly that.

At Wildern we are passionate about fostering a lifelong love for reading. Author visits are an incredible way to bring books to life, inspire young writers, and boost literacy engagement across the school. During her visit, Chris Dewar spoke to students about her writing process, her inspirations and hosted a live Q&A session - we were so impressed by all of the imaginative and thoughtful questions.

This week in Year 5/6, we had the pleasure of welcoming author Chris Dewar, who shared her captivating story, Dyrne Hill. Inspired by our very own Bulford, this supernatural mystery follows James and Penny as they investigate the mysterious disappearance of a boy, William, from an orphanage. Chris not only read a thrilling excerpt from her book but also engaged our budding readers with a fun quiz and shared her experience as an author before holding a Q&A. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to connect with literature and explore the creative process. A huge thank you to Chris for inspiring our young minds and for bringing the magic of storytelling to life!
