What age are your books for?

The books are intended for readers ages 4-7 years of age.  They have proven popular with preschoolers and older children who enjoy reading the book aloud on their own.

The most common author visit presentations are best suited for Years R-3.

There are other options for older (year 4-6) children  Picture books are a great tool for teaching: character, plotting and three act structure; especially for reluctant readers - just ask!

What happens on a School Visit?  Do you just read your books?

Visits are tailored to suit the needs and wishes of the Preschool or School, and can be presented to a series of individual year groups and a large assembly or as one large assembly.

Generally, I read a bit from one of my books, talk about how authors come up with ideas, then answer questions about being an author.

For classes, the children then use arts and crafts materials to: create characters, work on plotting, or develop their own story setting.  Workshops are interactive and creative and children will produce work they can take away with them.

Do you sign copies of your books?

Schools will receive a pre-order form before the author visit.  It is helpful if this can be sent home with students prior to the author visit.  I will bring extra copies of my books on the day of the event.  When possible, books will be sold at a discounted price as a reading incentive for students.  I will sign copies for the students.

How much will this cost?
