Details

My children's novel, The Serpent House, is a historical time-fantasy aimed at age 8-plus. My Cousin Faustina (aged 10-plus but for reluctant readers)is a contemporary fantasy published April 2015. The publishers have produced teaching resources for both.

My teen/YA novel, The Misper, was published in March 2018.

My two adult crime/suspense novels, In Too Deep and This Little Piggy, are published by Legend Press and inspired by my years working as a print and BBC journalist.

I am highly experienced at delivering creative writing workshops, for all age groups and abilities and I can tailor sessions as required. As a former BBC journalist I am an excellent public speaker. I have delivered academic papers to international literature conferences and writing sessions to primary school children. I am also experienced at teaching creative writing via distance learning. Feedback is always excellent. I have undergone the National Literacy Trust's TwentyFirst Century Author training on delivering dynamic school sessions.

The Misper

Three’s a crowd for teens Anna and Zoe, who don’t want geeky classmate Kerry following them around. The girls turn to magic to try to control their lives and at first, things seem to be working: Zoe’s life looks up and Anna’s divorced parents may get back together. But things spiral out of control and when Kerry goes missing, the girls have to face up to the consequences of their actions. It’s about friendship, bullying and the need to fit in. Readers can decide for themselves whether the magic is real.
