Details

Hello!

My name is Francesca Tyer. I am a Salisbury-based young adult author (The Elemental Prophesy series) and founder of the Untold Stories Academy, a business through which I run creative writing workshops (for children and adults) and offer editing and mentoring support to writers. I also work as a freelance content writer, copyeditor, and English tutor. I have been running creative writing workshops in schools since 2018. I am passionate about child-centred learning and love inspiring children and young adults to unlock their imagination and develop their passion for the written word.

Foxmoor Primary School

“Francesca worked with KS2 pupils all morning. She held their attention with her calm descriptions and explanations but most of all, the children enjoyed the props Francesca brought along to inspire their writing. The writing produced was wonderful and all of the inspiration has spilled over into their English work since. Thank you so much for such an inspirational visit.” V. Tuck, Primary teacher

Portway Junior School

“Francesca came into our school for two days to work with children in Key Stage 2. To kick off the day, she led an assembly [...] which engaged the children really well. “Thank you so much for visiting us to run your workshops last week - I thought they were brilliantly planned and the prompts and props you brought with you were particularly engaging, and allowed students to approach their writing in new and interesting ways. One of our Year 9 students went straight to her English teacher after her session to say how much she had enjoyed it! We would be very keen to book to have you back again.” D. S., Librarian

The Seastone

“No tale is ever complete. Stories go on forever and it is only we who end them.” Several months have passed since James Fynch returned to his world, but not a day goes by when he doesn't think about his extraordinary adventure. With the gold clock ticking more persistently than before, he knows that time is running out. Turning the dials of the clock, he finds himself once again in Arissel. Reunited with Will, Arthur and Aralia, the quest for Arvad’s crystals begins again. The task ahead is daunting and the companions must use every skill they possess to fight against the rising darkness. James is determined to protect his world, but soon realises there is nowhere to hide. Danger lurks everywhere, but the journey is far from over. Following nothing but a myth about the mystical island of Arvora, they face enslavement and death in their race to find the seastone.

The Earthstone

"To follow the light takes great courage." Darkness spreads like a poison and the Belladonna’s influence grows ever stronger. The signs are increasingly evident but most people remain blind to the truth. Even in Arissel’s underground streets, there are stirrings of rebellion and rumours of war. In times like these, few places are safe. Despite Albert’s best efforts to protect James and his friends, danger is never far away. Betrayed by those they trust, tested by the elements and hunted by Shadows, the companions battle on in their search for Arvad’s remaining crystals.
