I AM FULLY BOOKED FOR THE WEEK OF WORLD BOOK DAY 2024. I HAVE GOOD AVAILABILITY THE WEEK BEFORE AND AFTER

I am available for both virtual and actual visits.

I have worked in schools, museums and libraries for over 25 years as both an author and a storyteller. I work locally in London, all over the UK and abroad! In fact, I'm very happy to travel.

‘Margaret inspires pupils to think differently, challenges them to write creatively and then supports them through the editing process to publication. She is the complete package.’

Headteacher, Battersea

'Just thought I'd say a huge thank you for the wonderful job you did.'
with my year 6s today - I have never seen them sitting so enthralled before - pure awe and wonder - what an amazing gift you possess'

Year 6 teacher, Essex

'It really was one of those precious occasions where you are privileged to see children transported in front of you.'

Year 2 teacher, Kent

 Folk Tale series

Lao Lao of Dragon Mountain (China); Masha and the Firebird (Russia)

After a brief introduction about myself I show the children my books, and then I put them away and tell one of the stories.

After the storytelling we then reopen the book and look at the pictures and I can talk briefly about how I came to write the story, its publication, drafting work etc.

  • I like to set up a writing task and a craft activity related to the story.
  • Have a question and answer time
  • Depending on the time available size of the group the children may start the writing task or the craft activity.
  • I like to leave a range of activities for follow up.

Dragon Racer Trilogy

Ever wanted to fly a racing dragon? Discover your own secret self! Create your own dragon and tell the tale of the day you met. Fly a racing dragon and design your own racing jacket.

These are just a selection of the ideas explored in my workshop based on the Dragon Racer Trilogy.

You really convinced us that if you take a closer look at things there just might be a dragon on your shoulder.
