About me

I started writing in my late forties when I finally came up with an idea for a full-length novel. I never imagined that my writing would turn into a full-time career for me, but it has and it proves that it's never too late to start writing!

I've now self-published 8 books in the last 5 years, most of which are contemporary romances and were all inspired by various settings or locations. My talks about how I come up with my ideas for my contemporary romances are always well-received and usually involve lots of questions from the audience.

As a successful self-published author, I'm always keen to demystify the process of self-publishing and my talk about my journey has been described as inspirational.

Before becoming a writer, I was a teacher of pupils in years 5-8. I now give creative writing workshops in schools from year 7 upwards, and to college and university students. I'm also available for creative writing workshops with adults. I have spoken at many libraries, and also at a number of literary festivals, WI groups and book clubs. I have also been interviewed for podcasts and local radio.

Fees and Travel

I'm happy to travel anywhere in the UK, with travel and accommodation expenses included where necessary. I'm very flexible in meeting your needs, so while my fees are based on The Society of Authors' recommendation hereI am very happy to discuss this further with you.
