Debra says she has the BEST job in the world visiting schools around the UK to inspire children to embrace poetry and to create their own.
Debra's style is holistic and nurturing, ensuring each child leaves with more self confidence and self esteem.
A typical day would start with a noisy, fun and interactive, inspiring performance from one of her poetry books. Debra will then conduct poetry writing workshops in each class, or one large group. Children will be shown how to build their own poetry toolbox and guidance on writing their own poems, working towards a performance at the end of the day. Children will have a poetry writing tip sheet and personalised certificate to take home. Book signing if desired.
Debra has given performances and held workshops in both Hereford Library and The Hive in Worcester.
She has also appeared at the (world's first) Poetry Pharmacy in Bishop's Castle, holding a poetry writing workshop for local children.
