Details

Hello, and thank you so much for visiting my author page.

My name is Simon Adepetun, a children's author, creative writer, and storyteller.

I am passionate about promoting reading for pleasure, creative writing, and storytelling, all woven into one

By engaging with schools, I demonstrate that through the power of our imagination, we can craft the finest stories, whether in poetry, drama, or prose.

Currently, I serve as a Patron of Reading in 3 primary schools and advocate for reading for pleasure through my sessions, which have led me to visit 99 schools nationwide so far.

I travel across the country, visiting primary, secondary, and specialist schools, educational and youth centres, touring libraries, and participating in literary festivals.

I deliver author talks and workshops specifically tailored for KS2 & KS3, focusing on the art of creative writing through imagination while promoting reading for pleasure.

I also conduct workshops for EYFS & KS1, engaging children with the power of imagination as I captivate them with readings of their favourite books.

My sessions and workshops are suitable and adaptable for any group size. They are interactive, engaging, and inspirational, taking students on a motivational journey of how I persevered to become a published author, striving and working tirelessly to live out my dream, my long life passion.

I engage students with mini-challenges to enhance their ability to use their imagination creatively in storytelling and creative writing while promoting the joy of reading.

My visits have taken me to various locations across the country such as Warrington, Widnes, Manchester, Runcorn, Wallasey, Frodsham, Ellesmere Port, Wimslow, Northwich, Blackburn, Accrington, Sheffield, Delamere, Salford, Irlam, Maidenhead, Hale, Wakefield Birmingham, Eccles, Bury, York, Birchwood, Wigan, Bolton, Liverpool, Oldham, Stockport, Cheshire, Leeds, West Bromwich, Preston, Altrincham, Maidstone, Wembley & Southall in London, Walderslade in Kent, Norwich & Norfolk inspiring over 25,000 students with my fun-filled sessions so I will travel to visit you regardless of where you are located.

My fees are based on the Society of Authors recommended rates & are very affordable.

I’m happy to work with schools and put together a visit (in person or online) that suits your requirements.

Please contact me to discover the benefits of having Simon Adepetun visit your school or event, and find out how I can make my visit an unforgettable experience for you all.

Event feedback

Simon was fantastic. He inspired the children across Key Stage 2 with his life story and how he never gave up in his dream to publish a book. He motivated children to become readers and writers and was perfect for World Book Week.

Kim James (Byron Court Primary School)

Highly recommend him!

Nicola Webster (New Park Academy)

Pupils and staff in Year 5 and Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed the session with Simon. They were engaged for the duration of the session and inspired them to become more creative in their writing. We look forward to Simon joining us again for the next World Book Day.

Farina Bolia, Olive Birmingham (The Olive School, Birmingham)

Simon did a really inspiring whole school assembly about not giving up, which really captured children of all ages in our school. His books also have the unique selling point of his daughter being an illustrator, which the children also loved. The workshops were really fantastic for the children to be part of, but he is probably slighter more appropriate for KS2 than KS1 in terms of workshops with his books. Either way, the kids really did enjoy having him in school as a diverse, male role model in writing and reading for them to look up to!

Emily Hassall (St. Hilda’s CE Primary School)

Simon provided an engaging and exciting day for our children. They loved his two books and were inspired by his writing and his story. I would definitely recommend!

Lisa Toal (Sedgley Park Primary School)

Simon visited our specialist provision today and was just wonderful. His sessions were perfectly paced and so captivating, you could have heard a pin drop as the students were gripped! Simon's activities were engaging, and all classes were buzzing afterwards, keen to share what they had done and how much they had enjoyed it. Simon worked with four classes from KS1 to KS3 and each enjoyed their session just as much. We welcome Simon back to Poppy Field any time, he was wonderful. Thank you so much!

Nicky Hadfield (Poppy Field School)
