We will start the afternoon with an assembly for all Reception, Year 1 ad Year 2 pupils. We will sing a couple of action songs with my guitar as an introduction. I will share 'The Meadow Farm Band' with the children using the interactive whiteboard. The focus of the afternoon will be on the value of inclusion. How does the fox feel when he is left out. We will think of different adjectives to describe the wide range of feelings covered in the story. After the assembly, the children will return to their classes. Reception children will make their own Meadow Farm character headbands. Year 1 children will draw and describe Felix Fox. Year 2 children will write their own recount of the story, outlining the message linked to Values Education and also drawing the five story characters. There will be an opportunity to follow step by step drawing instructions. This can be completed on the following day, if they run out of time. I will spend the rest of the school day visiting the different year groups.
There will be a book purchase and signing session with refreshments at the end of the school day.
