Great fun for the students with well structured and engaging activities. Would love to have him back next year!

An spent the whole day with us at school on March 5th 2020 and ran three workshops. The workshops were enjoyed by children and staff. An told her stories, explained how books are made and how she had become an author. This matched well with our whole school focus on literacy. Workshops were fun and interactive, each group were left with a follow up task. Would recommend to other schools without hesitation. Thanks An!

Julia provided engaging and fun reading workshops for all our years groups from reception to Year 6. She led a whole school assembly to kick start the day and did a story telling session of one of her books, which the younger children thoroughly enjoyed.

Cliff was great with the students. There was a wide age range and he catered for them all. The workshops with year 7 & 8 were very impressive. Hope he will visit us again.

We were delighted to welcome author Lou Treleaven to Codicote Primary School on Monday 9th March. She spent the morning working with our Early Years and Key Stage 1 children, starting with an assembly and then a series of workshops for classes, based on a number of her books. In the afternoon she read from 'Turns out I'm an Alien' to years 4, 5 and 6 and explained the process of writing a book from the initial idea to publication. The children were totally enthralled and all keen to continue reading the story to find out what happens. Lou was friendly, approachable and engaging - the children loved her and so did all the staff.

We were lucky enough to have Julia visit us for a whole day. She worked with all the classes in our Infant School from Nursery to Year 2 sharing some of her books and how she writes them. It was such an enjoyable day and wonderful to see the children so enthused about reading and storytelling. Thank you Julia so much for providing the inspiration for lots of exciting writing projects across the school and for starting off our World Book Week in such style!

We were visited by Emilie last week and the pupils were completely engaged with her speech for the entire session and have taken away some fantastic ideas to get involved with their own poetry writing. She was professional and had a brilliant rapport with pupils straight away.

We really enjoyed our visit from Lou. She was incredibly accommodating and agreed to work with all of our year groups. Teachers reported that the children really enjoyed the workshops, and many were so excited about the ideas that she gave them that they wanted to continue writing their stories at home! It was a great day and she inspired us all.

Thank you for your visit on WBD. All pupils around the school are still talking about your books. You have helped to promote love for reading at Riverside Primary. Your books are much appreciated and pupils are currently taking turns in reading them. Pupils found the session interesting, entertaining and thoroughly enjoyed it. You have made WBD extra special for our pupils.
