I’m Nick Jones, an award-winning independent children’s author living in Congleton, Cheshire. I am also the owner of a children's publisher called Full Media. I am a patron of Bootle-based children's charities Ykids and Kingsley & Co.
My debut picture book Sarah’s Shadow won several awards including Best Children's Picture Book 2018 on the international book site Readers' Favorite.
My nextbook, One Night in Beartown, is based in Congleton where I live and was published in December 2020 by Full Media Ltd.
A sequel, One Christmas in Beartown, was released in December 2021.
My my fourth book, Franklyn - No Ordinary Fox, That book will be out in March 2022.
My fifth book, Snailish, will be out later in 2022.
My sixth book, Halloween in Beartown, will be published in October 2022.
My books are aimed at children aged 4-8 but older kids seem to enjoy them too. They are beautifully illustrated by my friend Si Clark. My books deal with important themes that affect kids, such as bullying, body image and self-esteem, but in a creative and subtle way that encourages the young reader to explore the meaning with their parent, teacher or carer.
Here are some snippets from reviews I've received online:

In 2021 I did over 20 Zoom sessions with schools where I read one of my books and then answer questions that the kids ask. On World Book Day alone I did seven 30-minute Zoom sessions! Schools in Congleton, Bristol, Burnley, Bradford ... and even one in Michigan! I have been receiving wonderful feedback - in fact one school sent me a load of letters and cards made by the kids.
Here are some of the many lovely comments I've received from schools and nurseries:
"Nick and his partner came and delivered a wonderful day of workshops for nursery, reception, year 1 and year 2. The pupils were totally engaged in the storytelling and the little ones loved the craft making. We will definitely have Nick back in the future!"
Charli Faux, Teacher, Terra Nova School
“That worked absolutely brilliantly Nick. The children came away buzzing. Thank you!”
Victoria Rippon, Headmistress, Bosley St Mary's CE Primary School, Bosley
“This was such a special experience! The kids loved hearing One Night in Beartown read aloud straight from the author. They were completely captivated by the reading of the story. What a wonderful message of friendship and imagination the book had. After zooming with Nick, we read Sarah’s Shadow as a class, and this book also was just as loved. Thank you so much Nick, for sharing your passion and love for your books this way; our class is so appreciative of you!”
Alex Boonstra, 1st Grade Teacher, Park Elementary, Michigan, United States
“To help us celebrate national story telling week, Nick delivered a Zoom call to the Preschool and Toddler children at Astbury Lane Nursery. The children loved listening to the story all about the town they live in. Nick delivered an engaging session and the children were very excited to explore his story after the call.”
Kate Smithers, Nursery Manager, Astbury Lane Nursery, Congleton
